  • Synthesis and implementation of IIR filter using VHDL language
  • VHDL is a hardware description language of various hardware structures at various level of abstraction. The language can be used for modeling, design and analysis of hardware. This paper present hardware implementation architectures of IIR filter using synthesizable VHDL. Using FDA tool to perform filter coefficients. Simulated it and implemented it on the xilinx xc3s500efg320-4. The implementation done by using fixed point format for number representations. The proposed design of the filter include two architectures parallel architecture, and programmable multiplexing architecture, each type has advantage and disadvantage. The synthesis reports result a number of figures depending on the size of design (filter length).
